Home Essentials Friars Balsam 50ml

Home Essentials Friars Balsam 50ml
It doesn’t get more old-fashioned than Friar’s Balsam, which has traditionally been used as a natural antiseptic, Friars' Balsam is just the thing to reach for for minor blisters and skin irritations. You can also make up a great hand lotion with Friars Balsam. Dilute Friars Balsam before use on skin to prevent stinging.
Uses & Tips:
Antiseptic - For minor blisters, skin irritations, chapped skin and lips. May help relieve itching of chilblains and dry skin conditions. Apply diluted, 1 part to 2 parts water, to avoid stinging.
Inhalation
Make your own recipes:
Inhalation
Add 5ml Friars Balsam to 500ml of hot water and inhale for 5 – 10 minutes to relieve sinus congestion, up to 4 times daily.
Cough Support
Inhale steam of Home Essentials Eucalyptus Oil with added Home Essentials Friars Balsam, Menthol and Pine Oil.
Hand lotion
Take 1 cup boiling water and 1 teaspoon of corn flour, then mix the corn flour with the boiling water and allow to cool. It should thicken. Then take 10 drops Home Essentials Friar's Balsam, 2 Tb Home Essentials Olive Oil, and 2 Tb Home Essentials Glycerol, and stir in these ingredients. Add some other Home Essentials Essential Oils if you want a stronger smell, although the vanilla like smell of Friar's Balsam is nice. This lotion is quite runny, (don’t expect it to have the same texture as hand cream), but it soaks into the skin well. Shake well before use. Great for chapped hands.
Mixture for cracked nipples
Mix Home Essentials Friars Balsam with Home Essentials Glycerol. Do not use immediately prior to breastfeeding and ensure area is wiped clean before breastfeeding. This is also good for chapped hands.

Important note on stain removal – Before you begin, remove as much of the solids as possible, and blot up as much liquid as possible. Dab the stain, don’t rub. Begin at the outer edge of the stain, working your way towards the centre. If possible apply treatment from the back of the fabric. Be cautious with application, by applying too much solvent or rubbing too vigorously you risk spoiling the fabric. Never strengthen solutions if they don’t work. Always rinse fabric and let dry before trying another remedy. If you decide to take fabric to a professional cleaner, tell them what caused the stain and what home treatments you have already tried.
